RIZU LU

Rizu Lu first made her streak as an award-winning competitive journalist, editorial cartoonist and Editor-in-Chief of a nationally acclaimed student newspaper during her teenage years before turning to online storytelling in 2013. Following shortly after the online publication of her text-based short fiction titled Textual in late 2015, her short stories and prose poetry have collectively garnered over 10 million reads across reading platforms, drawing in readers with her raw, evocative themes and distinct dream-like style. From 2018 to present, she has since worked behind the scenes with creatives and developers to make an array of projects come to life — to building storylines, refining scripts, rendering frames by the thousand and pitching content for top grossing games and apps. After retiring her Inkitt and Wattpad pages, she now curates her personal pieces on The Saltroom Archives.

When she’s not chasing inspiration by the sea, losing hair over deadlines or discovering hidden cafés abroad, she enjoys the quiet comforts of her home in the countryside — where she writes (with what’s left of her), reflects, and lazily spends her days with her two beloved cats.
